Frequently Asked Questions

It is entirely possible, and it is actually at the heart of our expertise! During our afternoon or full-day tours, we visit the entire National Park by boat: from the Marseille basin (Sormiou, Morgiou, Sugiton) to the famous Cassis Calanques (En-Vau, Port-Pin, Port-Miou). Sailing across the entire massif allows you to grasp the full diversity of the landscapes, from the wild archipelagos of Marseille to the towering cliffs on the Cassis side.

For an unforgettable swim, the Riou archipelago and the Sormiou Calanque are at the top of the list. The south of Riou Island offers 'tropical' clarity and dazzling white seabeds. Sormiou, with its vast turquoise basin, is also a must-see. Our skippers choose the best spots daily based on the wind to guarantee calm, clear, and crystalline water, accessible directly from the boat.

Absolutely, and it is one of the highlights of Bleu Évasion. Located off the coast of Marseille, the Riou archipelago is the wild jewel of the National Park, accessible only by boat. We take you to explore its uninhabited islets, its seabird reserves, and its paradisiacal coves like Monasterio, where the feeling of being at the end of the world is absolute.

The difference is primarily geological. Most of the massif (Sormiou, Morgiou, Sugiton) consists of Urgonian limestone. The Marseille Calanques are also wider, inhabited by historic 'cabanons,' and bordered by archipelagos (Riou, Frioul). Moving east, the limestone is slightly younger and often richer in fossils (the famous Cassis stone used for quays and sinks). The Cassis Calanques (En-Vau, Port-Pin) are narrower, encased between very high vertical cliffs, and offer a more 'mountainous' setting. Exploring them by boat is the only way to compare these two unique facets of the coastline.
